There are so many things you can do when working at an automotive company. You can choose to focus on automotive engineering or decide to get involved in the manufacturing process. If you like it, you can build an engine, assemble cars, etc.
Today, working in the auto industry involves more than looking under the hood and getting your hands dirty.
And if you’re in doubt whether it’s valid to enter this job market, don’t worry. In this post, we’ll explain why this area is a good option, the benefits of pursuing a career, and what the job market is like.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ENTERING THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY?
As companies continue to expand and begin to add more capacity and a longer time commitment to keep up with demand, this means more take-home pay for workers as well.
The automotive industry is becoming an increasingly tech-oriented field and if you love technology then you will love a career in the automotive industry.
With the rapid development of technologies and innovations such as autonomous driving, electrified powertrains, advanced safety systems, and state-of-the-art hybrid and electric cars, you will never cease to be fascinated by the new technologies being implemented in vehicles today.
The automotive industry has a bright future:
Being technology-driven, the automotive industry is always advancing. There’s always something new, like electric cars, autonomous cars, wireless and mobile component integration, and anything new that can help make the experience of driving and owning a car safer and more convenient.
Good career prospects:
In many cases, career perspective determines whether people will consider joining an industry. Good news for those entering the automotive industry, career prospects are promising, especially for automotive service technicians and mechanics, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts growth of six percent from 2016 to 2026.
If you are concentrating on a career focused on car repairs and the like, the prospect is equally encouraging, as more cars are being built now than ever before. The annual number of cars produced worldwide has steadily increased from around 48 million in 2009 to over 73 million in 2017.
WHAT ARE THE TRENDS FOR THIS INDUSTRY?
– Autonomous Vehicles
Autonomous or autonomous vehicles aim to minimize the need for human drivers and seem ready to transform everyday transport.
A trend that professionals in this area should pay more attention to is the greater use of technology and its connectivity.
– Electrified vehicles
Stricter emission regulations, lower battery costs, more widely available charging infrastructure, and growing consumer acceptance will create a strong push for electrified vehicle (hybrid, plug-in, battery, and fuel cell) penetration in the coming years.
The speed of adoption will be determined by the interaction of consumer attraction and regulatory momentum, which will vary strongly at the regional and local levels.
As we can see, the automotive industry is vast and heated. The growing appreciation of professionals is an added boost for those thinking of pursuing a career in the area and being part of one of the professions in high demand today.
